How to improve a website's ranking with backlinks. Find out how you can get free backlinks for your site.
Search engines consider each link to your site as a type of recommendation. So, the more links that point to a website, the higher its credibility and the higher its ranking in search results.
Backlinks, or the websites that point to your site, are, for most search engines, the supreme ranking factor. This means that the traffic is increasingly organic.
Because this traffic is directly related to the quality of the backlinks to your website, the more authoritative websites that link to you, the better the ranking and the traffic you will get.
And, of course, you want to keep an eye on your SEO positioning on Google...
When scanning your website, Google specifically searches for backlinks on your website, to understand how your pages are linked to each other and how. Surely there are hundreds of positioning factors. But backlinks are the most important metric for SEO.
Now, needless to say, quality backlinks are hard to get, but they shouldn't be. There are actually smart ways to build or earn backlinks, to have an authoritative website link to your online business.
SERP (Search Engine Ranking Position) refers to where your website appears when users search for your keywords. For example, if your website sells widgets, you would want your website to appear when a user searches for key phrases like "buy widgets" or "cheap widgets". But just being listed in the search results is not enough.
An online search can produce hundreds or thousands of results and most users do not click on the 168th website in the list. You need your website to be placed at the top of the list. In other words, if you want traffic, you need good search engine rankings.
Search engines consider a number of factors when defining where your website should appear in search results. The age of your website, loading speed, keywords, content, etc. make all the difference. But, one of the most important considerations is the quantity, quality and relevance of your backlinks.
Backlinks are internet pages that link to your website. Links are an important part of the algorithms of major search engines such as Google or Bing. Not only do they help search engines find your website, they also act as a "vote" for your website. Basically, if another site connects to your website, it must be important and deserves to be positioned higher up in the search results.
Almost all links count as votes, but some votes have more weight than others. How to improve the placement of a website with backlinks? With quality backlinks. These are the main parameters for qualifying a good quality backlink:
Page Relevance - If you have a hydraulic equipment site, a link from a hydraulic page will be much more effective than a link on the hunt. When building backlinks, you need to locate the pages that refer to the content of your website.
The site is indexed - When a website is indexed it means that it is listed in the search engines. A link on a website that is not indexed will do nothing for your website since the search engines do not know that such a link exists.
Do-Follow - By default, all links are "Do-follow". However, sometimes you use plugins or manually add a "No-follow" tag. No-follow tags tell search engine spiders to ignore the link.
Site Authority - To apply for a job, a recommendation from a highly respected CEO or individual will weigh more than a 10-year-old daughter's ticket. The same applies to links. Backlinks from sites that have authority with search engines are more effective than links from random sites that just popped up yesterday.
Build Internal Links - Internal links are a key factor in managing a successful website or blog. With a good internal link structure, you can help users navigate easily through your website and increase the overall user experience.
There are tools that can automatically create internal links on your blog or website, especially if you are using Wordpress, but you should do so manually. We recommend that you keep the number of internal links per page below 100, both for usability and SEO.
Actually, there are only two ways to get backlinks. You can create them manually or buy them.
To create them manually, you can comment on blogs, post on forums or search the internet for relevant sites and contact webmasters to ask for a link. Building backlinks manually is definitely feasible, but it's incredibly frustrating and time-consuming.
To manually create backlinks with the aim of improving the placement of a website, there are several things you can try. An alternative and safe way to do this is to submit your website to the web directories, in the relevant categories.
There are services out there charging to create backlinks to your website, but with a bit of time on your hands and patience, you can do it yourself, slowly slowly, and get some quality backlinks from quality websites.
Check out this list of directories where you can list your website or start-up (please note: we are not affiliated in anyway with the provider of these directories/service, but you can list your website manually, one by one and freely): List your website here.
Getting quality backlinks can be a challenge, but you can easily find opportunities to create links using the right resources and methods. Finally, remember that keeping backlinks is as important as building them. Then, follow the backlinks that your website gets, using tools like Monitor Backlinks or Ahrefs.
